It’s been nearly a decade since I sold trend forecasting heavy weight, WGSN. Times were good (the dot com bubble was still intact).
Since then I’ve had a lot of time to take stock of the state of the creative industries and where they’re going. And although we live in very creative times, the forecasting giants are nurturing a ‘copy cat’ culture of inertia.
That’s why I created Stylus. Inspired by the idea that the most brilliant innovation comes from the cross-pollination between fields of expertise, Stylus provides consumer insights across 20 different industries. Using our unique technology, we cover consumer lifestyle, engagement and product trends all under the same umbrella.
Five years on, Stylus boasts over 500 clients around the world and is growing fast.
Throughout my professional life, it’s now clear that three key passions have driven me: creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. So that’s what this blog is going to be about. Some of it you’ll agree with, other bits you certainly won’t, but either way I expect to challenge your perspective on what it takes to succeed in today’s world.
